Jack grew up and attended school in the Boston area. He enlisted in the Marine Corps and when discharged came to New Hampshire to join his family that had relocated here. He lived here and worked in Massachusetts. In 1967 he decided to make a change and moved to New York City where he worked on Wall Street in brokerage on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. He sought a new challenge and went from Wall Street to banking where he was a credit analyst in the factoring division. While New York City had been a great experience there was always the desire to one day return to New Hampshire. After 12 years he decided he liked the life of living by the ocean more then the traffic of the city.
Jack met his wife Shirley in 1979; they married in 1980 and have two daughters, and a Black Lab. He started his real estate career in his in-laws business on Hampton Beach and worked there for four years. He wanted to expand his real estate knowledge and joined a larger company. Having experience selling condominiums led to him being chosen to be an on-site Sales Manager for a new condominium development in the New Homes Division.
Jack loves all aspects of the real estate business because of the interaction of so many different facets of everyday life. Dealing with people from all walks of life that have the same common denominator... wanting to accomplish their dream. He has always found that if he listens carefully to what the client wants he can bring their desire to fruition.
Jack has seen many economic changes in his near 30 years in the business. In 1980 when interest rates were hovering around 20%, that's if you could find a bank that had mortgage money. He saw the other end of the spectrum with the hot market in the ‘80's and then a downturn in '87. That recovery was slow and we got back to more of a "normal" market in the early to mid ‘90's. The market then became stable and climbing to the peak in 2005 which began another downturn. We are now starting to see signs of more stability in housing and hopefully a recovery.
The joy of being in the real estate business comes in facing the challenges of the times, working with buyers and sellers helping them reach the dream of owning their own home, or business.
